DIY Outdoor Slat Table & Bench Leg

3x 1 Recycled Tube Steel brings this striking leg together.  Created to be paired with our DIY Outdoor Couch Kit - these square shaped legs have a 1.5" slot for dimensional lumber, butcher block or your own uniquely sourced wood. 

Legs sold separately - select a quantity of 2 to make a table or bench.

This leg can make a coffee table for your outdoor couch, a desk, work table, an outdoor dining table with matching bench or whatever's clever to you.  The slatted design offers superb rigidity for a lasting & stable surface. These legs can be used indoor or outdoor.  Heavy duty with striking beauty- these and you will make furniture that last.  Choose from 4 sizes & 8 finishes.  

Casters will add about 4" in height (3.8") when screwed all the way in. Leveling feet will add 0.25" to 1" to the height depending on how far you screw in the foot.

Our powder-coat finishes are scratch-resistant and rust-proof, so they don't need much care. Just be sure to touch up any exposed steel if you happen to drag them across rough surfaces, such as pavers, or scrape them with something sharp.

You can attach your Slat Legs with just a few simple tools( Circular Saw, Rubber mallet, Hand Drill/Driver).  Here are a few basic steps to help you get started.

Step 1: Turn your project surface or slats and the Slat Legs upside down. Be sure to select straight, not bowed horizontally or vertically dimensional lumber, and place next to each other on flat surface to see if they lay flat and nestle nicely to one another.  Place slats legs next to each other in best format slide lumber/slats/top into the 1.5" slot, starting with edge pieces first (may need a cutting, sanding and rubber mallet to knock these into place as slot edge can get tight) . Mark the wood through each mounting hole with a pencil.  Pre-drill pilot holes no more than half of the wood thickness.

Step 2 : Attach your legs using #10 1.25" Truss head wood screws at for optimal fastening.  

Step 3 : Screw in Leveling feet or Rolling Casters

Step 4 : Confirm the Slat Legs are securely attached, then turn your project right side up. 

Step 5 : Enjoy!

For dimensional lumber builds use the following:

Coffee table /Desk Table : (3) 2" x 8" cut to desired length. (4'-5' foot ideal)

Bench Seat : (2) 2" x 8" cut to desired length (4' foot ideal, use extra leg for longer benches) may need to rip 1" of wood off one slat for better fit.

Dining Table : (4) 2" x 10" cut to desired length  (Up to 6' foot ideal, if going longer use metal brackets underneath for support or third leg)

**Select straight lumber not bowed if possible. Sanding/cutting may be necessary to fit into slot

USA Customers-

Any item can be returned in new/unused condition and in original packaging. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. 

Returns requested within 14 days of the delivery date and in original packaging, that are unused, will be accepted.

Our original shipping and delivery fees are not refundable.

Returned goods have a 30% restocking fee.

There is a flat rate $35 return label cost for orders of $250 or less, for orders of $250 or more the return shipping will be at cost. If you’d like to use your own label feel free to do so and see below for shipping instructions.

International Customers-

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept returns at this time for international orders.

Defective/Damaged Orders:

Damage happens, and we will make it right! If your order arrives damaged or defective just  let us know within 14 days of delivery. Email photos of the damage along with the packing slip to makewith@semiexact.com. 

Policy On Changing, Modifying or Canceling A Current Order:

If you have an order with us and would like to make a change or cancel, we’d love to accommodate. We highly encourage you to reach out as soon as possible. Your order is custom and we want to make it perfect for you!

With a custom piece, once we start on it, it can only be made in your specific dimensions. To modify or cancel an order already in production creates waste in material and labor. We know talking about fees is no fun, yet it is a reality and changes mid production incur real costs. We have kept these fees low and kept them in line with reflecting the efforts of our team's professional work.

Here are the windows within which we accept changes/modifications and any fees associated.

(Change/modification fees must be paid over the phone at the same time as requested. Fees will be deducted from the subtotal and all shipping costs will be fully refunded if canceled.)

Hairpin Legs/ Hairpin shelf & desk brackets, floating shelf brackets, bent flat bar brackets with and without lip:

• 24 hours, free of charge.

• Changes after 24 hours will have a change/ cancelation fee of 25%

Flat Bar, Tube Steel, Spider Legs, Platform Bed, Box Bed:

• 48 hours, free of charge.

• Changes after 48 hours will have a change/ cancelation fee of 25%
